Milford gastroenterology was established in 1989 to serve the population of the Greater Milford Area. It remains our mission to deliver compassionate and quality medical care to our patients regardless of race, gender, and religious affiliation.

Meet the Team

  • Albert A. Crimaldi, M.D., PhD, FACG

    Albert A. Crimaldi, M.D., PhD, FACG

    Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, he is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Medical School where he earned both an MD and PhD. He completed his medical residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, serving an additional year as Chief Medical Resident. He received his fellowship training at Harvard University/Brigham and Women's Hospital and is a Founding Partner of Milford GI Associates. He has previously been the Chairman of the Department of Medicine, Medical Staff President and site coordinator for the University of Massachusetts Internal Medicine Residency program at the Milford Regional Medical Center and is the immediate past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of MRMC.

  • Ajay K. Batra, M.D.

    Ajay K. Batra, M.D.

    Dr. Batra is a board certified gastroenterologist with an interest in general gastroenterology. He did his undergraduate work at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA where he was accepted into the accelerated BA/MD program. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA in 1996. He completed his internship, residency, and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester, MA from 1996 to 2002. He joined Milford Gastroenterology Associates in 2002.

    Dr. Batra is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, MA.

  • Brian D. Moquin, M.D.

    Brian D. Moquin, M.D.

    Brian D. Moquin, M.D., was born, raised and educated in central Massachusetts and enjoys practicing medicine in an area he calls home. Dr. Moquin received his degree in medicine from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at UMass Medical Center, Worcester.

    Dr. Moquin enjoys teaching medical students and residents at Milford Regional Medical Center as an Assistant Professor in Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Society (Medical Honor Society).

    Outside of medicine; Dr Moquin spending time with his family, friends and pet bulldog. Cheering on the NE Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He also enjoys gardening and cooking.

  • Brett A. Hassan, M.D.

    Brett A. Hassan, M.D.

    Dr. Hassan is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from the university of Massachusetts in Amherst. He received his degree in medicine from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester in 2006. Dr. Hassan completed his Internship and Residency in internal medicine from and Fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He served as Chief Fellow in gastroenterology while at UMass. After working in the North Shore of Massachusetts for 2 years, he joined Milford Gastroenterology in 2014. He specializes in general gastroenterology and hepatology.

  • Parham Safaie, M.D.

    Parham Safaie, M.D.

    Dr. Safaie is a fellowship trained gastroenterologist and experienced hepatologist with clinical interests in both liver diseases and general gastroenterology. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts and earned his medical degree in 2003 from University of Genoa in Italy, where he was also raised. Dr. Safaie then completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham, MA, followed by a fellowship in Hepatology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He accepted a position as Assistant Professor in Hepatology at University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC). While at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, he completed his fellowship in gastroenterology.
